Balenciaga: Spanish Master exhibition opens today to the public at the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute in New York. 

Seventy attires will be showcased from the Balenciaga archives in Paris, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology and various private collections. 

The influence by the spanish roots and religion and the experimental mood Cristobal Balenciaga had in his late 60s dresses are some of the main elements of this exhibition, curated by Hamish Bowles.
